Josep Miquel Piqué has a PhD in Innovation Ecosystems from La Salle URL, a Telecommunications Engineer from La Salle and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – UPC, and an MBA from the School of Business Administration and Management – ESADE. He also holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of California-Berkeley, and the Ramon Llull University.
President of La Salle Technova Barcelona – La Salle Innovation Park, Director of Internationalization and Innovation – La Salle URL, President of XPCAT (Catalan Network of Science Parks), Vice-President of APTE (Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain) and Ex -President of IASP (International Association of Science Parks).
His long professional experience in university administration has led him to promote and lead Graduate Programs, Technology Transfer Centers, University Incubators and Science and Technology Innovation Parks. He has promoted multiple hybrid organizations taking the University – Industry – Public Administration partnership model.
He has published multiple works in publications and conferences on Innovation Ecosystems. He has participated in multiple international forums in Europe (Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Italy and the United Kingdom), America (Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, United States) and Asia (Korea, Philippines, Singapore , Japan and China). His central line of activity is the promotion of Economies and Knowledge Societies to consolidate Knowledge Cities in Smart Cities.
